For students in all departments of our Faculty of Science and Letters, the following Required Faculty Courses have been offered: “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence,” “Introduction to Basic Computer Technologies,” “Career Planning and Professional Ethics,” and “Social Responsibility and Justice.”
The “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence” course, which covers data processing, AI-based search algorithms, optimization algorithms, genetic algorithms, artificial neural networks, modeling of AI-based problems, deep learning, and natural language processing, is designed to help students from all departments become familiar with artificial intelligence methods and develop the ability to solve problems using these methods.
The “Introduction to Basic Computer Technologies” course, which covers the R, Python, R, and Python programming languages and their applications, is designed to help our students become familiar with the computer programming languages used in the basic sciences and to acquire the skills to perform basic mathematical and statistical analyses using these languages.
The psychological aspects of work and career, self-analysis, critical career competencies, developing career strategies, integrating work and personal life, preparing a resume, preparing cover letters and thank-you notes, developing effective communication skills, body language, preparing for job interviews, meeting professionals from various sectors and sharing experiences, (Industry Days—academia, public sector, private sector, and civil society organizations). This course is designed to guide our students in self-discovery and exploring their areas of interest, and to guide them in planning their careers by raising their awareness of their personality traits, skills, and professional ethical principles.
Using an interdisciplinary approach, the “Social Responsibility and Justice” course examines concepts of social responsibility and justice, gender-based discrimination and women’s rights, children’s rights, and the socially disadvantaged situations of the elderly, people with disabilities, and the homeless; it also analyzes rights and regulations, animal rights, environmental awareness, and efforts to protect wildlife. is designed to enable our students to develop the ability to think critically about and analyze these topics, to develop projects using collaborative and creative methods, and to play an active role in bringing about positive local change by drawing on global examples.
