YTÜ BASIC SCIENCES COURSES EXEMPTION EXAM PRINCIPLES*
Courses listed in the curriculum plans of our university’s departments and offered by the respective departments,
- Department of Mathematics: MAT1071 Mathematics 1, MAT1821 Mathematics
- Department of Physics: FIZ1001 Physics 1, FIZ1002 Physics 2
- Department of Chemistry: KIM1170 General Chemistry,
Exemption exams are administered for these Basic Sciences courses.
Students who are about to begin the English preparatory class or their first year of study may take the exemption exam.
1. Students who enroll through transfer are not eligible to take the exemption exam.
2. Students may take the exemption exam only once.
3. Information regarding the location and time of the exemption exam will be announced on the YTÜ Office of Student Affairs website (www.ogi.yildiz.edu.tr) and on the websites of the relevant departments.
4. Students who apply for the exemption exam through the application system must submit the “Exemption Exam Form”—which they will download from the system—signed in ink to the exam proctor on the day of the exam.
5. Students who do not apply for the exemption exam through the application system by the dates specified in the academic calendar and who do not arrive on time for the exam will not be admitted to the exam.
6. Students must arrive at the exam with their Turkish ID card/residence permit, university enrollment certificate/university student ID card, and the hand-signed Exemption Exam Form. Students with incomplete documents will not be admitted to the exam.
7. To pass the exemption exam, students must earn a grade of at least CC (2.0). For students who earn a grade of CC (2.0) or higher on the exemption exam, these courses will be recorded on their transcripts with a grade and credits.
